My Story
I worked as a Civil Engineering Construction Project Manager and Senior Project Manager for 30 years. It was a career I loved. In August 2019, I was commuting home on my e-scooter and was struck down by a van driver. The driver had seen me coming; we made eye contact, but I was still struck. I broke everything from the waist down and had to learn to walk again. The accident has left me partially paralysed in my right leg and to date (December 2025), I have had 11 surgeries on my legs to put me back together. However, the accident also thrust me into a world of physical disability and the discrimination that comes with that which also meant the end of my career in construction. But it has also given me new opportunities that I would love to share with you. Employers think people with disabilities need special treatment. In reality - people with disabilities don't need special treatment, they need equitable access.
I'd love to take you on a journey where you can help make a difference to the world around you. Where equity and equality are actual values, you stand by.
